CHARLES BARKER IS AN HOTELIER who spent much of his career in the Middle East. He became well acquainted with many of the key players on both sides of the first Gulf War and was uniquely positioned to see at first hand the issues and manoeuvrings of this troubled region.
He has worked in nine countries on five continents and enjoys immersing himself in the cultures and regions in which he finds himself. Having already written a collection of short stories, Capital Tales, and a children’s book, The Adventures of Godfrey and Oliver, The Brown Envelope Club is his first novel.
He now lives in Hong Kong with his wife and keeps a home in England.
